Pineapple Retreat

We provides nature and mindfulness-based retreats, learning programs, and restorative experiences that nourish people in the Northwoods—supporting well-being, community connection, and harmony with the land.

We also incorporate traditional Chinese philosophy such as mindfulness, Buddhism and holistic health into the workshops, retreats and events.

We respectfully acknowledge that this land is located on the traditional homelands of the native tribes, Potawatomi, Ojibwe, and Menominee. The story of native people must be told, understood and celebrated in order to enrich and enlighten our society.

We are also a LGBTQ small business owner who aims to provide services and support for LGBTQ community.

All native Americans and LGBTQ community members receive 50% off discount for all of the services. Please email us to get a discount code.

Meet the Founder and Facilitator

Dr. DI WU

Dr. Di Wu is the founder and facilitator of Pineapple Retreat. Born and raised in Hunan, China, in a family of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners, Di grew up immersed in a different relationship to the body, to stillness, and to care — one that would eventually shape the retreat itself.

That foundation grew into a lasting personal practice: over ten years of yoga and meditation, alongside coursework and certification in mindfulness, Buddhism, tea ceremony, and mindful journaling, pursued across both China and the United States. Alongside that practice, Di spent a decade in higher education, earning a Doctor of Education in New Learning and Leadership and building a career facilitating training programs and mentoring students.

In 2026, Di brought those two threads together and founded Pineapple Retreat, with a simple purpose: to give people the knowledge and skills of mindfulness to genuinely improve their well-being.
